1. Run disk clean up for C drive( Right click on C drive and u ll see "DISK CLEANUP"
2.Move to tools tab in Cdrive property window and run "ERROR CHECKING AND DEFRAGMENT" once in a week.
3.Install Antivirus software  (free antivirus :avast, microsoft security essential, avg, avira) and check your pc once in a while for malwares.
4.Type "msconfig" in Start Window
5.Move to service tab
6.Check "HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES"
7.Now the microsoft services ll be hidden
8.Select Disable all
9.Enable only your Antivirus
10.Goto "STARTUP" tab and disable all except your antivirus.


Few more tricks:

You can disable few microsoft services too

Note: Create a system restore point before proceeding as if something went wrong( still now i didnt get any problem)


1.Goto control panel
2.Click "SYSTEM AND SECURITY"
3. Click "ADMINISTRATIVE TOOL"
4.Click "SERVICES" icon
5.Service will be listed
6.Double click on any services
7.In "STARTUPTYPE" change it to "DISABLED"
